In addition to striving to produce the highest quality redwood products available, we are also dedicated to responsible stewardship of our valuable natural resources. We strive to use only redwood lumber that is recycled, reclaimed, or sustainably harvested. Additionally, we recycle as many byproducts as possible from our manufacturing operations, including sawdust that is used as horse bedding or weed control and scraps and shavings that are used as firewood.
We source all of our redwood from Humboldt Redwood Company in California where forest certification standards ensure that socially and environmentally responsible practices are enforced in forest operations. Sustainable redwood forestry provides clean air, fresh water, and habitat for plants and animals and the industry also provides jobs for surrounding communities and renewable natural resources. State laws and certification standards also enforce the protection of wildlife habitats and water sources. Additionally, Humboldt Redwood Company strives to avoid sourcing wood harvested in violation of state laws or where conservation values might be compromised.
